What is Extended Calls?

Extended Calls is a feature that allows you to connect two separate organizations within the same reseller environment. This allows users from both companies to call each other internally using a prefix and internal number.

Example: You dial 100*125 to reach a colleague from the connected company, where 100 is the prefix of that company and 125 is the internal number.

Where do you find Extended Calls?

Extended Calls can be found in the Company Panel under: Settings > General Settings > Extended Calls

Connecting companies

The Extended Calls page is divided into two sections:

  1. Connect to another company (left side)

  2. Connected companies (right side)

Steps:

  1. Both companies contact VoiPro Support via the support email.

  2. Both companies give explicit permission for the connection

  3. VoiPro support makes the connection and configures as desired:

    • Prefix for target company - the internal number of the company that should be reachable (for example 100)

    • Prefix for current company - the internal number of the other company (for example 102)

  4. The connection is immediately active and appears in the Connected companies section of both companies after the connection is confirmed.

For Company Managers (End Users)

If you are not a reseller administrator, you cannot see other companies in the system. That is why this works via an authorization code:

  1. Company A generates an authorization code

    • Company A goes to Extended Calls and clicks I have a code under "CONNECT TO ANOTHER COMPANY"

    • A unique authorization code is generated (for example 141377)

    • Company A shares this code with Company B

  2. Company B confirms the connection

    • Company B goes to Extended Calls

    • Company B clicks I have a code under "CONNECT TO ANOTHER COMPANY"

    • Enter:

      • Code - the authorization code received from Company A

    • Click Add connection

  3. Connection is complete

    • The connection now appears in the Connected companies section of both companies

    • Both companies can now call each other internally

Important rules for Prefixes

  • Length: Each prefix must contain between 1 and 5 digits

  • Uniqueness: Each prefix must be unique under dial plans, users, groups or connected companies prefix

Managing connected companies

In the Connected companies section you see all connected companies.

Each connected company shows:

  • The prefix (internal number)

  • The company name

Options per connected company:

  • Settings (gear icon) - Change the prefix of the connected company

  • Delete (X icon) - Remove the connection

Calling via Extended Calls

Once companies are connected, you can call using the pattern:

[Prefix of target company] * [Internal number]

Example: To reach internal number 125 of a connected company (prefix 100), you dial: 100*125
